Incredibly special and unique inkwell. Fluted glass well with a cast metal dog head complete with collar and an open moth design to hold your quill. The dog looks like a mastiff or old school bulldog to me, blocky head with a short snoot and cropped ears. Also has glass eyes, a feature usually indicative of pre WW1 era production. No stamps or makers marks. You will receive the pen in the photo but it is quite fragile. As a bonus hidden inside is a little note reading " Lucy, This inkwell was your grandfather Bliss'!" Some patina to the underside of the dog and a tiny little hole on the back that feels to me like a bubble from the casting process. Size: 4.5"T x 3"W x 3"D, pen 8"L
